Summary:

The Elementary School Athletic Director/Dean will provide direct support for the Director of Athletics and

Principal at Valley Mills Elementary. This position will focus on day-to-day operations of the elementary school athletic

program. This position is expected to organize and execute all elementary school athletic events and provide daily

support and supervision as the Dean of Students for Valley Mills Elementary.


Essential Responsibilities:

 Assist Director of Athletics with coordinating the over-all elementary school athletic program

 Maintain day to day operations of the elementary school athletic program

 Assist Valley Mills Elementary with daily support and supervision


Specific Duties:

 Negotiating contracts for Elementary School games and officials and maintaining all contracts on permanent file

 Arranging for transportation and meals for all Elementary School athletic trips (when applicable)

 Assist with purchasing all supplies, equipment and awards for the Elementary School athletic program

 Ensuring that Elementary School athletes meet eligibility requirements

 Maintaining all Elementary School athletic equipment

 Maintaining permanent records of results of all Elementary School athletic events and awards

 Issuing, accounting for, storing, laundering and reconditioning all Elementary School athletic equipment

 Assisting with publicity of the Elementary School athletic program, and issuing schedules and rosters to the media

and opponents

 Making arrangements for ticket sellers, ticket takers, ushers, scorers, timers, parking, and police protection at all

Elementary School home athletic contests

 Elementary School Concession Supervisor (ordering and managing inventory, workers, setup and reconciliation

of money)

 Negotiating the sale and distribution of general admission and season athletic tickets, and arranging for

distribution of tourney tickets

 Assuming responsibility for the financial operation of the Elementary School athletic program including costs for

student athletes.

 Responsibility for ensuring there is proper supervision at all Elementary School athletic events

 Working closely with custodial and maintenance staff to ensure that Elementary School athletic facilities are safe

and ready for contests, practice and games

 Having a thorough knowledge IIAAA rules and regulations

 Coordinate seasonal team and individual pictures

 Maintain accurate Grade Checks

 Attend facilities meetings and facilities scheduler

 Assigning and confirming of Elementary School Officials

 Coordinate event managers when applicable

 Assist with student discipline and student supervision at Valley Mills Elementary

 Performing other duties as assigned


Contract Length:
220 days

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Athletic Administrative certification preferred

Reports to: Director of Athletics, Principal

Employee F.L.S.A. Status: Exempt
