Program Description:

Job Description & Duties:

• Planning and leading daily classroom and outdoor activities for up to 20 students at a time
• Promoting a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom
• Addressing and supporting behavior situations as needed
• Supervise classroom on all field trips that sometimes include swimming, splash pads, and outdoor activities.
• Preparing ahead to ensure activities and supplies are ready for the day
• Keep students safe and accounted for at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom
• Communicate with supervisor as needed
• Interact with parents as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Start Date: Programs begin Sept 5, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Work Location: Placement will be determined based upon program needs

• NORTH: Mendota, Lake View, Lindbergh, Sandburg
• SOUTH: Lincoln
• EAST: Allis, Emerson, Henderson, Hawthorne, Lowell, Nuestro Mundo, Schenk
• WEST: Anana, Midvale, Orchard Ridge

Hours/week: Up tp 18./5 hours per week

Start times by site:

• Anana, Hawthorne, Henderson, Lowell, Mendota: Mon 12:30pm, Tue-Fri 2:00pm
• Allis, Emerson, Lincoln, Midvale, Nuestro Mundo, Schenk: Mon 1:15pm, Tue-Fri 2:45pm
• Orchard Ridge, Lindbergh: Mon 1:30pm, Tue-Fri 3pm
• Lake View, Sandburg: Mon 2pm, Tue-Fri 3:30pm

Programs end between 5:30 and 6pm.

Application Deadline:

• May 8th 2023

Payrate: $15.00 - $15.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

• Positive, professional and patient attitude
• Strong desire to make a positive impact in the community and be a youth role model
• Ability to arrive to work on-time for all scheduled shifts
• Attend scheduled staff training, meetings and professional development
• Reliable and responsive communication via email
• Willingness to learn new skills to support MSCR’s mission

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with elementary-aged children planning and leading activities
• Behavior management and classroom support experience
• Experience creating an inclusive environment
• Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong
• CPR certification
• First Aid training

Health & Safety Information related to COVID-19:

• Staff are expected to follow increased health and safety guidelines
• Wearing masks is highly encouraged
• All staff must be fully vaccinated
• Complete a health screener as needed
• MSCR will continue to follow and update safety and health practices in accordance with Public Health Madison & Dane County and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
