Performance Pay:


Available annually


New hire experience:


1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum


New hire education:


1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

OVERVIEW

To repair various electronic systems and components and to maintain them in safe operating condition; and to install electronic systems to provide safe and uninterrupted service.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Minimum two years experience in the electronics repair or related field; excellent attendance record
  • Formal education in electronics field; work related experience would be considered
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm, intercom, sound and video systems; proficiency with computer systems
  • Must obtain NICET certification within 6 months of hire, training and exam fee to be provided by the district
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic devices and circuitry; ability to diagnose component failure and repair
  • Ability to interpret, to understand and to work from plans, schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to utilize tools and safe working practices of the electronics trade
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to lift and/or to move 100 pounds; to work from ladders and lifts up to 35 feet
  • Ability to work overtime and to change schedules with minimal notice; willingness to work non-regular hours (weekends, night shift, swing shift, holidays)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and repair district electronic communication systems (i.e. fire alarm, intercom, video, sound, and other related systems)
  • Coordinate with appropriate district personnel and contractor to develop project specifications and follow up on contractor progress
  • Process documentation and other paperwork associated with job requirements in a timely manner
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work in Transportation. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.
