Basic Job Functions:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading safety and compliance obligations for both the department and division. During construction, the Electrical Engineer will be involved in the design and commissioning of the steel making equipment. During production, the individual will be involved in maintaining the electrical operation of all industrial processes with a focus on continuous improvement and design optimization.
Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years' experience in industrial electrical or automation in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical engineering experience in the steel making industry
- Experience with industrial mechanical systems
