Position Summary
The Early Learning Floating Teacher role is responsible for ensuring that program spaces are safe, interesting, engaging, and reflect the diversity of our society. The Early Learning Floating Teacher participates in implementing learning activities that are balanced in all learning areas. Attention is given to the children's ideas and curiosities in influencing the direction of daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate, contribute and cooperate in the planning and implementation of activities that are age appropriate, process oriented, and encourage divergent thinking, creativity, and problem solving, based on Wonders curriculum, philosophy and mission
- Treat all children, families and staff with respect and professionalism
- Establish and nurture partnerships with families.
- Demonstrate an understanding of age appropriate behavior and promote positive guidance in behavior management
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of Maryland State 90 clock hours certificate of approved infant/toddler and preschool coursework
- College coursework in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or camp setting
- Creative, nurturing, dependable, and fun
Compensation and Benefits:
Wonders proudly offers salaries in the top 25% for the ECE field in the D.C. area.
Starting salary is $15/hr, based on meeting minimum qualifications.
