We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, strong leader for our two-year-old classroom to join our team. We have the same position open at both locations: One World located at 1230 Corporate Blvd and Enchanted Castle at The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, planning lessons and activities a E. Prater Way. Teacher would work directly with students in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate with parents on a regular basis, work well with children in a classroom of their peers and maintain a positive atmosphere, while making the classroom an environment that runs smoothly for the students and the teachers. Pay rate is based on experiance and/or edcation.
Essential Functions
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that meet the physical, social/emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in your class.
- Work with children individually and in large groups to foster learning
- Prepare Monthly lesson plans with team. Make sure all lessons are prepared a month in advance.
- Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)
- Be a positive role model for children.
- Provide excellent customer service to all families and community partners.
- Be mentally capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities
- Understand and adhere to all health and safety requirements of Washoe County
- Establish a positive relationship with children, families, co-workers, and the community
- Administer the bi-annual assessments
- Report developmental/behavioral concerns to Director.
- Complete necessary daily paperwork for students (daily reports, incident and accident notes, etc.)
- Implement positive classroom management/discipline techniques
- Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, appealing, organized, and safe for all children. Make sure all materials and equipment are in good repair
- Attend staff meetings and other required trainings and meetings.
- Complete required trainings in the time frame allotted or before they expire.
- Attend programs that may occur in the evening for the school (graduation, Christmas Performance, Fall Festival, etc.)
- Help to train new teachers.

Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Negative TB test
- high school degree/equivalent education or higher
- Proficiency in communication skills, both oral and written in English
- Pass a background check
- Have dependable transportation
Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to move freely in and out of classrooms and work on the child's level of sight
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
