Clinician II Description
Position Classification & Compensation
This role is classified as an exempt, full-time employee as those terms are defined in the Center’s Employee Handbook and is eligible for employee benefits as defined for this classification.

Summary: The Clinician II is responsible for working collaboratively with the entire Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support (HOPES) project (Texas Dept. of Family & Protective Services, Prevention and Early Intervention Division) team to ensure a high fidelity implementation of counseling and family support services as described in the approved proposal and contract awarded by DFPS. The scope of work is subject to change as needed to ensure the project’s success and to meet funders’ requirements. Likewise, complementary changes may be made to projects or individual goals and expectations for employees based on agency/management strategic goals. All Center for Children team members are expected to be collegial and collaborative, mutually supportive, and focused on excellent services to clients, fidelity to program models, and ethical provision of services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain high levels of customer service, with attention to nurturing and building relationships with clients seeking services.
2. Participate in reflective supervision twice monthly.
3. Provide Service Delivery leadership to Site Supervisors at partnering agencies, providing reflective supervision twice monthly.
4. Participate on the Performance and Quality Improvement Committee for HOPES, ensuring services are being delivered with fidelity to model and contractual obligations.
5. Adhere to accreditation standards (as developed), licensing standards, and other policies/regulations.
6. Ensure detailed knowledge of approved grant, contract, and requirements of the funder.
7. Participate in ongoing staff training for continual improvement of quality of service to families and communities served.
8. Must be/become expert in all required therapeutic/educational modalities utilized by the team.
9. Conduct individual, family and crisis intervention counseling and family support sessions as defined in the contract. Conduct screening, assessment, and intakes. Services are carried out in the office, client’s homes, and in multiple venues in the community.
10. Assist the Clinician I and/or Program Director with gathering data and preparing reports to funders.
11. This role requires excellent collegial collaboration and communication, a willingness to flex to meet the needs of staff and clients, an ability to be creative in overcoming barriers to the team whether those are at the direct service level of in implementing the program as a whole. This flexibility includes in scheduling, when and where clients are seen for services.
12. Develop personal skills to carry out the program’s goals.
13. Participate in a diverse and professional work environment that emphasizes teamwork and mutual respect.
14. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork regarding services and program activities to support accurate billing, excellent client services, and data management.
15. Make appropriate referrals to case management partner when additional needs are identified for clients.
16. Access clinical supervision independently, if not licensed for independent clinical work and if this supervision is not available by a qualified practitioner in-house.
17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
· Must be a licensed mental health professional (LPC-A, LPC or LMSW minimum). Education commensurate with one of the licensures noted. Must maintain licensure and pay for his/her own supervision.
· Must have at least two years of professional counseling/direct practice experience.
· If not TF-CBT certified, must commit to becoming certified within 1 year.
· If not trained in Theraplay, must commit to receiving training and implementing this modality within 6 months.
· If not trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), must commit to receiving training and implementing this modality within 6 months.
· Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish and English is preferred.
· Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of business applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all walks of life.
· Must have driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and maintain proof of current insurance at Texas minimum standards.
· Must be able and willing to travel for trainings/meetings/conferences.
· Must be able to walk, sit, stand, and lift and carry at least 25 pounds.

Flexibility
· Every program at the Center is community and client-centric. Working with diverse partners to meet the needs of families in our community demands flexibility. The scope of work is subject to change based on the team’s performance and the funder’s expectations and on agency/management strategic goals. The flexibility needed in this role includes scheduling of meetings/events/activities, scheduling supervision sessions with staff, training, staff meetings, and out-of-town travel for training and/or grant requirements.
