We are currently hiring for a Social Service Specialist Supervisor in our Renton Home and Community Services offices. Home and Community Services is a division of our Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA) that promotes, plans, and develops long-term care services to persons over age 18 and our elderly population. In this role, you will supervise a rotating group of new Social Service Specialists as they complete our In-Training program. You will have the unique opportunity to work with staff in multiple program areas and provide dynamic onboarding and training of new staff.
Employees assigned to a duty station in King County will receive a 5% Premium pay calculated from their base salary.
Some of what you will do:
Onboard and train new SSS2 and SSS3- Assign, prioritize, audit, and review work assignments of Social Service Specialists
- Conduct frequent staff, case, and multidisciplinary meetings
- Respond to client complaints, legislative inquiries, and/or questions from providers and mediate resolutions
- Ensure accurate authorization and timely service delivery
- Conduct ongoing reviews of worker's case records ensuring complete and accurate assessments and service plans, as well as documentation of case activity
- Prepare written and oral reports, documentation, and forms as required for program areas supervised
We're looking for a professional with one year of paid experience completing comprehensive assessments for vulnerable populations to include children, elderly or disabled populations and one of the following:
- A master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field and one year of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 3. (A two-year master's degree in the above fields that included a practicum may substitute for 1 year of paid social service experience.) OR
- A bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field and five years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2. OR
- One year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 4 OR
- Two years as a Social Service Specialist 3
