DRYWALL HANGER

A Drywall Hanger is responsible for the preparation and installation of drywall on a commercial construction job site. They work from blueprints, specifications, and instructions to build, remodel, retrofit, maintain, and repair various types of facilities and structures. A Drywall Hanger will work as part of a team to complete drywall installation using proper tools and equipment required for the job.

Responsibilities:

· Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of a variety of materials.

· Plans and installs various types of commercial drywall products on exterior/interior walls, ceilings, and bulkheads.

· Installs various types of wall insulation products prior to drywall installation

· Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of the clients.

· Measure, cut, shape, and install drywall products custom to each project

· Use a variety of different hand and power tools to perform duties. Commonly used hand tools include tape measures, squares, levels, keyhole saws, rasps, utility knives, as well as many power tools such as screw guns and routers.

· Cleans up work area and equipment when the job is completed.

· Manual labor including lifting and carrying heavy objects.

· Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

· Ability to operate equipment required to access the installation area.

· Work has a professional level of quality and accuracy that is consistent with Bouma’s goals

· Exercises good interpersonal skills by gladly assisting others to accomplish the work of the organization, even if outside the scope of regular duties.

· Understands and follows company policies and safety procedures

· Understands proper construction safety processes and procedures.

· A consistent contributor and engaged team member.

Qualifications:

· Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time which may require working in elevated areas, confined spaces, extreme weather, and on and off ladders and aerial platforms such as scissors and boom lifts.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently

· Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and/or written instructions by supervisors, and establish effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the general public.

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

· Has good problem-solving skills and is confident in his judgment and experience to get the job done.

· Is dependable and reliable, ability to work overtime as necessary

· Has reliable transportation to worksites

· Ability to use hand and power tools.

· Has good math skills. Good understanding of quantities and measurements.

· Experience on a commercial jobsite as a drywall hanger is preferred, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
