The Position

Rudin Management Company seeks Doorperson to join the company. We are looking for candidates that can hit the ground running. This is a 32BJ Union position.

The Doorperson will perform the duties as stated below:

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist tenants and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner;
  • Provide assistance by opening doors, carrying bags, hailing rides and directing people to the front desk;
  • Respond to inquiries whether it be features of the building, local knowledge of the neighborhood, and questions, concerns or complaints, which may be relayed to the appropriate co-worker;
  • Stay alert throughout the shift to ensure building and tenant safety: Look out for suspicious activity and regularly inspect the building for safety, patrolling all areas and reporting any damages;
  • Use building management software, such as Building Link and Yardi, to enter and track work order requests, maintain key control, confirm building and visitor information, and receive/track deliveries and packages until residents pick items up;
  • Maintenance: building maintenance, from clearing sidewalks during winters, laying down rain mats, sweeping puddles on the exterior perimeter, mopping floors and cleaning the lobby;
  • Other ad hoc duties may include relief coverage for other positions.

Requirements:

· Proper Etiquette: Be polite and friendly, making people feel at ease, and proactively offer your services to tenants and visitors;

· Customer Service: Be committed to creating an excellent tenant experience, answering inquiries thoroughly and accommodating requests while reinforcing rules and policies;

· Safety Awareness: Recognize signs of potential danger and enforce safety measures;

· Attention to Detail: Being observant is a key characteristic of this position while monitoring deliveries, building premises and everyone entering--beyond safety concerns, remembering details helps build better connections with people, especially residents or recurring visitors;

· The job requires standing for several hours and lifting and carrying luggage and packages;

· Comfort in learning computer applications; working knowledge and experience with Building Link or Yardi a plus;

· Being punctual and reliable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills;

· Must use sound judgment, show discretion, and maintain confidentiality;

· Be detail-oriented and extremely organized with an ability to multi-task;

· Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

Compensation:

· The compensation for this role is subject to the terms of the 2022 Apartment Building Agreement between the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations Inc. and SEIU Local 32BJ (“Contract”)

· The new hire rate for this position is 75% of the Contract minimum

· The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.30 - $29.74
