In search of a motivated employee dedicated to raising funds and resources to support the services provided by WomenSafe, a nonprofit domestic violence shelter. This is a full-time position, working at WomenSafe the Green House in Chardon, Ohio.

Schedule can be flexible s agreed upon with supervisor.

Purpose of job: To ensure that clients of WomenSafe, Inc. are provided with a high level of appropriate and compassionate care in a safe, clean and welcoming environment. In addition, to develop a comprehensive donation program that will assist individuals served by the shelter and those who are in the community who require additional assistance when getting out of a violent relationship. The goal of such care is to assist clients in living a life free from violence.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Carries out general operations of the shelter when needed. Will ensure that services are provided to the residents in compliance with the policies and procedures and requirements of operation set forth by WomenSafe and its funders. Will maintain the confidentiality of clients at all times.
• Assist the staff to oversee WomenSafe's donation program, assess items on hand, and seek needed items via social media, calls, letters, and presentations to community groups
• Assist with the pick up or drop off of needed items
• Responsible for the transportation, sorting and storage of all donations in the shelter and storage area
• Oversee volunteers who assist with sorting of donations.
• Lead WomenSafe's holiday Adopt a Family program
• Assist clients who are leaving the shelter for individual housing.

Requirements

• Must be flexible with schedule, some evenings/weekends may be needed
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a positive attitude and work well with a variety of people
• Customer service skills
• Ability to move, lift, carry and place supplies weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Completion of background check required
• Valid driver's license
