Position Summary:
A District Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing sales in their District by implementing and executing strategy through management of the salesforce and distribution network.
Job Functions for District Sales Manager:
- Coaches Territory Sales Managers to develop sales objectives, plans, and strategies for each Distributor
- Responsible for the training and development of all Territory Sales Managers in their Region to include the SRG Training Program through the in-person Sales Coaching process and training techniques
- Travels frequently to work with Territory Sales Managers in each territory, visiting key Distributors and End Users
- Analyzes Territory Sales Managers selling activity, efficiency, and effectiveness and makes timely changes as needed to maintain productivity and goal achievement
- Recruits and interviews candidates for Territory Sales Manager positions.
- Responsible for T&E budget by reviewing and approving District Sales Manager’s monthly expenses.
- Ensures that CRM is used daily throughout the District by each Territory Sales Manager
- Establishes and improves engagement by building relationships with key stakeholders at Distributors (owner, managers, outside/inside sales) and with End-users (purchasing agents, engineers)
- Analyzes distribution capabilities and effectiveness to support Region, making changes to add or reduce accordingly
- Develops pricing strategies and promotional programs in the assigned Region
- Submits reporting monthly to management, i.e. (Dashboards, KPI’s, and Top Customer Reports)
- Oversees Distributor training programs and implementation in the field
Qualifications for District Sales Manager:
- Have at least (5) five years of outside sales experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, time management, professional and well organized
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must live in their assigned District
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
- The ability to travel by air as well as overnight, including entertainment of customers in the assigned District, is required
Preferred Qualifications for District Sales Manager:
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or equivalent, in business or marketing
- Have at least (3) three years of management experience in sales
- Strategic thinker
- Excellent time management
- CPSL, CPSP, or CMTSE certification
- Advanced Excel Reporting / Data Analysis
- Proven Leader
