Consistent with the university’s shared services agreement with the William & Mary Foundation (WMF), this position is assigned 5% effort to support Foundation Services, LLC, a subsidiary of the WMF, with the responsibilities outlined below.

Position Summary
The Director, Reunion & Affinity Giving is a leader on the Annual Giving & Data Analytics team in the Office of University Advancement at William & Mary.
The Director, Reunion & Affinity Giving is the lead for the reunion and affinity giving program, responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive University-wide program for Alumni Class Programs, Class Reunion Campaigns and Affinity outreach and solicitation. The Director reports to the Executive Director of Annual Giving & Data Analytics and is responsible for program assessment, design, and implementation as well as establishing consistent alumni training, volunteer development opportunities and growing the donor pipeline.
As supervisor of the Reunion & Affinity Giving team, the Director is responsible for the oversight and implementation of reunion giving programming including class giving and affinity programs. The Director develops and implements strategic plans to maximize dollars raised and participation in William & Mary’s reunions and affinity programs. The Director is responsible for developing and managing a participation portfolio, reunion annual giving portfolio, maintaining relationships and promoting new opportunities for engagement with alumni.
The successful Director, Reunion & Affinity Giving will be a proactive and collaborative member work of the Annual Giving Board, acting as liaison for Board committee work. The Director oversees one of three annual giving marquee initiatives (Calendar Year-End, One Tribe One Day, Fiscal Year-End) which includes leading a committee of peers, direct marketing, data analytics, student philanthropy, and Olde Guarde Engagement. The Director will be a champion for diversity and equity as William & Mary builds on its success and continues planning for its next campaign. This is a hybrid position based in Williamsburg, Virginia, that offers a flexible work environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and or experience.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, including, but not limited to, collaboration, staffing and programming.
  • Understanding of an environment of fund-raising, donor relations, volunteer engagement and higher education.
  • Strong fundraising skills with the demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and cultivate prospective donors or clients
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and oversee a team of direct reports and manage and train volunteers.
  • Strong administrative and project coordination experience and proficiency with a variety of software applications to include web-based applications.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with database applications and CRM systems.
  • Experience working in marketing and/or fundraising.
  • Project management experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with boards or volunteer committees .
