Director of Strategic Market Intelligence

SmartLabs is seeking a high achieving professional with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team as the Director of Strategic Market Intelligence, working a hybrid schedule out of our Boston, MA location in the enterprising, waterfront Seaport District of Boston.

Partnering with our Co-founder/CBO, you will play an integral part in the shaping of major strategic initiatives for SmartLabs by researching and synthesizing data into meaningful, actionable insights.

A successful team member will be ultra-proactive, intellectually agile, and able to manage multiple high-priority projects. You must be a smart, strategic thinker, and a tactical executer who is comfortable presenting to the C-suite. This role will collaborate with every level of the organization to advance strategic priorities.

In this role, you will:

• Identify, analyze, and provide insightful recommendations of emerging industry trends and opportunities in the life sciences sector and the issues facing the dynamic companies in it.
• Develop timely and relevant competitive intelligence to inform the near- and long-term growth strategies.
• Lead team members in the creation of effective case studies, presentations, proposals, strategic analysis, and white papers.
• Deep cross-functional engagement to leverage insights and expertise of SmartLabs’ business partners.
• Translate ideas and insights into strong PowerPoint, Word, and Excel documents, creating a compelling narrative.

Professional qualifications include:

• BS or equivalent undergraduate degree; MBA or advanced degree in the life sciences or engineering a plus.
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills, judgement, attention to detail and creativity to effectively solve complex problems.
• 7+ years of meaningful market intelligence, customer engagement, and analysis experience in the Life Science industry.
• Have worked for biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies at a corporate level, or in related areas such as management consulting to biopharmaceutical companies.
• Are familiar with the scientific, regulatory and/or commercial dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with modeling.
