A director of sales and engineering is responsible for managing all sales operations for an organization or business. Their duties include drafting sales reports, meeting sales targets, and estimating sales profit for products. The Sales Director works closely with the Project Managers, providing support, communicating regularly, identifying opportunities, and developing and implementing strategies. This position is the team’s primary focus of financial success through customer service, highly accurate cost estimating and quoting, and superior market knowledge and experience. Within the sales life cycle, Sales and Estimating Team has ownership of the estimating and quote preparation steps and provides secondary support in other areas.

  • This role will report to the President of the company and will optimize our value stream and ensure commercial excellence.
  • In this role, you will lead your team to drive revenue for the business by meeting or exceeding sales targets. You will identify and measure performance drivers for your team. You will use technology to implement processes & tools to inform sales decisions and create revenue opportunities, while ensuring our customer demands are met or exceeded. You will set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of current sales programs.
  • This position typically has 2-3 direct report (Estimators). Coaching and developing talent is critical to success in this role. You will lead both coaching the team to drive revenue and provide an excellent customer experience with strong focus on advising how to frame a structure during the estimating process.
  • This position typically liaises between customer requirements, outside specialty Engineering consultants, Operations and Project Managers to ensure Sales and the design of the project is in alignment with Production Capacity and Capability.
  • Uses processes and tools to provide consistency with cost estimating and quote preparation.
  • Successfully uses a quote review and handoff with Outside Sales rep and/or Sales
  • Provides highly accurate, consistent, and timely quotes and estimates
  • Reviews all specifications, making notes of all project’s specific requirements, to provide inclusions/ exclusions in the quote.
  • Provides backup supporting documentation that contains a clear roadmap for each cost estimate.
  • Accountability to ensure timely participation, completion and accuracy, quotations during all stages of the project.
  • Works with Operations Manager regarding form costs and labor costs on special projects

Job Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, or a relevant field preferable.
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and best practices.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Precast structures, with a clear demonstration of understanding how a precast is built, how the pieces go together, dimensions, concrete, strengths, and how the precast structure is framed and products are typical connected.
  • Deep knowledge on Precast Standards, PCI guidelines.
  • Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage others and managerial skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
