Position Summary
ABOUT US:
Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance.
The Director of Patient Care Services assumes responsibility for the planning, priority setting, coordination, management and evaluation of patient and staff education for the Jackson Health System(JHS). Provides the organization with a positive example of cooperative leadership by maintaining an enthusiastic and progressive relationship with patient care services, directors and vice presidents, as appropriate. Exercises shared responsibility for maintaining an appropriate balance of cooperation, communication, and integration among the departments, faculty and staff to ensure an efficient and progressive environment that carries out a program of quality education. Provides the opportunity for growth and development of staff through learning opportunities, professional mentorship, research, and other staff development activities.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred. At least one degree must be in Nursing.
Experience
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
License/Certification
Valid Florida RN license is required. Advanced Nursing Administration certification is preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
