Director of Operations Job at Supplemental Health Care Corporate
General Description:
Responsible for improving business results by providing operational support to SHC operating units as assigned. Through analysis, planning, and executing strategy this position will enhance revenue, profitability, operating expense control and improved operating income while adhering to Company core values of Integrity, Candor, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Below is a list of essential functions for this role across the Company.
What you will be doing:
- In alignment with the Director of Process Improvement, ensure business is leveraging operational tools in the manner that they were designed to maximize process efficiencies. Monitor business for potential areas for future process improvements.
- Identify and promote processes that must be consistent across divisions, regions, and organization generate higher ROI and workflow optimization. This will include leading knowledge teams as needed to drive initiatives towards these goals
- Monitor business operating strategies that combine available resources and thorough utilization of all available tools via metrics
- Adopt and establish best practices around Change Management as needed to support the business through these progressive improvements
- Oversee the establishment of policies, procedures and training for these processes
- Coordinate with Business Intelligence to establish dashboards/reports to monitor, analyze, and report on SHC operating units for various key performance indicators to determine areas of opportunity to improve employee productivity
- Coordinate with the EPMO team to drive project completion leveraging SHC standardized project management methodology, terminology, and documentation
- Coordinate with the Learning Department to establish or update foundational training courses in the LMS and training paths
- Ability to travel to Company offices as needed and flexibility in scheduling
- Oversee and participate in negotiations with various outside vendors to achieve overall objectives
- Help to create an environment of high morale, motivation and teamwork
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years' equivalent experience required, preferably in the health care staffing industry; 8+ years required for Senior level role
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to follow through and create team member accountability
- Superior knowledge of business and management principles involved in recruiting, staffing, production methods, human resources, and/or similar or relevant work experience
- Customer service focus that allows anticipation of customer needs, both internally and externally
- Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and rules of composition
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing as well as verbally with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and with other team members
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to travel as needed
- Must possess critical thinking skill set
- Must have a proactive approach to building the market by continually analyzing trends and information
- Must take initiative to implement improvement strategies
- Must have a working knowledge of computers and software systems including Microsoft Office products and the Internet
- Must have strong analytical ability
- Must have prior experience and/or basic knowledge of recruiting/sales
- Must have excellent negotiating skills
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Must be able to work for prolonged periods of sitting, typing and use of the phone and computer
- Must successfully complete onboarding training/tutorials and attend future webcasts/trainings as required
