Director of Franchise Development Job at La Madeleine
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Director of Franchise and Non-Traditional Development is responsible for leading the sales process from initial solicitation through contract completion for both traditional and non-traditional development by recruiting qualified new and existing franchisees. Must passionately represent the brand and be able to coach prospects through the discovery process, financing resolution and market development while maintaining compliance with all state and federal franchise regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare an annual marketing and development strategies for all channels of franchise and non-traditional business.
- Work with the various teams to develop a scalable solution for franchise and non-traditional development.
- Execute yearly sales objectives with regular tracking, progress and pipeline reports.
- Recruit, screen and evaluate qualified franchisees based on their development ability, operations skills and financial qualifications.
- May be required to lead and conduct Discovery Day
- General prospecting of opportunity via B to B networking relationships, attending trade shows, seminars, development agreements and cold calling.
- Build and maintain relationships with all levels of decision makers with all aspects of existing and potential projects.
- Participate in reviews with existing franchisees and licensees to further develop relationships and ensure compliance with development schedules.
- Educate the franchisee prospects on the steps of the development process, including application criteria, forms and procedures.
- Guide applicant through the process to their eventual signing of a franchise or development agreement.
- Prepare, package and submit RFP responses to all viable RFP’s.
- Assist teammates to ensure a project’s timetable is met for a successful store opening, utilizing a development pipeline in a timely manner.
- Keep apprised of franchising, licensing and restaurant industry trends and activity.
- Work closely with COO on strategic initiatives to achieve goals.
- Comply with all applicable franchise laws and La Madeleine policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales or related Franchising & Non-Traditional experience required.
- Organizational skills required for tracking and guiding multiple projects.
- Travel, with limited direct supervision, up to 50% of time.
- Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Highly refined oral and written communication skills required.
- Excellent sales and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree
