Job Title: Director of Engineering, Wet Process Business Unit
Location: Valencia, CA

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the design, development and productization of wet
processing equipment for the semiconductor industry and related markets. Ideal candidates will have
experience developing wet processing system design and be strong leaders with vision and integrity to
grow with the company. The Director of Engineering will play an active role in designing and developing
large-scale systems, integrating global teams, driving schedules, and providing updates to customers and
upper management. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership, communication, and
project management skills; several years of management experience; and a belief in developing the skills
and talents of others. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in identifying and navigating
organizational changes, a keen interest in technology, active engagement with international trends in
engineering and leadership, and above-average emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to aligning engineering designs and resources with company
goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, integrating new processes within
engineering, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.


Deliverables

  • Leading overall system architecture and design for manual and automated wet processing
equipment
  • Designing fluid delivery, measuring, and conditioning for precise process control of surface
preparation and plating processes
  • Leading P&ID definition, documentation, and implementation
  • Integrating different engineering skill sets into design and development plans
  • Supporting established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies
  • Preparing and managing plans/budgets/schedules
  • Finding and implementing ways to improve cost-efficiency
  • Providing technology leadership to guide engineering teams through complex design tradeoff
analysis
  • Resolving complex field process issues, utilizing systematic troubleshooting methodology
involving multiple processes
  • Creating systems to communicate issues, track progress and pull resources from multiple
business units and/or functions
  • Demonstrating sound statistical techniques, problem-solving methodologies and DOEs (Designs
of Experiment) to quickly determine root causes and action plans
  • IP conceptualization & experimentation
  • Customer success orientation: influencing and communicating new product and performance
improvement


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of direct experience in designing and developing capital equipment and 5+ years of
engineering management for the Wet Processing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Physics, Engineering, Materials
Science, or other applicable technical or engineering degrees
  • Experience with Wet Process performance tuning (ex: agitation, flow modeling, sequencing)
  • Experience and familiarity with chemical compatibility of plastics materials and manufacturing of
related baths/tanks
  • Analytically-driven problem solver, with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead projects from experimentation to final testing
  • Thorough understanding of materials science and semiconductor processing

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
  • 15+ years of on-the-job experience in 300/200mm wafer fab(s), capital equipment manufacturers
or related organizations covering wet process, with demonstrated capability to successfully drive
independent projects
  • Superior knowledge of wet chemistries coupled with a solid understanding of how the wet
processing will interact with the IC functionality and integration, as well as the hardware required
to implement these chemistries.
