Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services; Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum five years’ ID/DD program services background including a minimum 2 years’ of Day Habilitation experience
• Minimum three years’ supervisory experience
• Experience with OPWDD HCBS waiver regulations
• Experience in developing community-based opportunities based on person centered plans
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle required

Some Job Duties:

• Oversee and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Day Services programs
• Directly Supervise & train the Assistant Director of Day Habilitation
• Collaborate with the second Day Services Director; provide oversight of all Day Habilitation programs in the absence of the second Day Services Director
• Create linkages with community groups and alliance agencies by attending meetings and engaging in active collaboration, i.e. IAC, NYSACRA, LI Alliance, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce
• Develop and maintain volunteer sites
• Ensure regulatory and fiscal compliance as per OPWDD regulations and Agency P&P to include weekly Medisked audit of documentation of services, incident reporting and protective oversight standards
• Oversee fiscally related systems (i.e., petty cash) and purchasing
• Oversee budget development to include monitoring of expenditure; identify opportunities for improving revenue management and program efficiencies; develop and implement a short and long term plan for creating a viable department that maintains budgetary integrity; Manage unit utilization
• Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices; participate in agency driver safety course
• Assist in crisis intervention by providing support and guidance
• Oversee and ensure program personnel related issues/systems to include payroll, PTO, performance evaluation, progressive discipline, training, recruitment and retention
• Ensure Day Services Policy Procedures are maintained and updated consistently; develop training that is consistent with the new procedures and needs for program supports
• Collaborate with the leadership team and ABA to ensure the adequate provision of ABA related services
• Initiate and monitor additional outreach\recruitment of new program participants and new program initiatives
• Follow agency protocol for driver safety; monitor Fleetmatics and safety Motorist reports
• Collaborate with the intake department to ensure program vacancies are filled in a timely fashion and screening/trial assessment protocols are well maintained; make final determination of acceptance to the program
