The Position

A Camden Homes Director of Construction oversees all construction activities for the entire company to ensure he/she completes homes on time, with quality workmanship at the best possible market value. The DOC will recruit, select, manage, and motivate Construction staff. The DOC will create, implement, and coordinate all construction training. The DOC will create, implement, and coordinate all company policies and procedures in line with company core values.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality built homes.
    • 7 or less items on Quality Walk Inspections.
  • Deliver homes on time.
    • Ensures homes completed in less than 120 calendar days.
  • Follow all Camden Homes Core Values, Systems and Processes.
    • Must follow written and established process and procedures.
  • Canons of Construction
    • Follow the 4 Cannons of Construction.
  • Utilize Construction SCH software
    • Ensures use and compliance of BT scheduling
  • Exceptional Customer Service
    • Oversees the compliance of our warranty procedure and keeps warranty to the absolute lowest level.
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Zero violations and Zero safety incidents.
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Ensure safety policy in in place of construction.
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Conduct and document yearly safety meeting.
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Complete OSHA 10-Hour Certificate w/in 100days
  • SWPPP
    • Maintain SWPPP BMP’s at all times.
  • Meeting Rhythms
    • Attend all huddles, monthly/quarterly meetings.
  • Expense Reporting
    • Turn in all expenses with explanations monthly
  • Management
    • Conduct Goal and Feedback Sessions with reports
  • Training
    • Recruit, Select, Train, Manage and Motivate.

Authority

  • Use of Company American Express for fuel and other approved purchases.
  • Recruit, select, hire, terminate employees according to company policy with HR approval.
  • Discuss with Direct Supervisor before issuing raises or promotions. Must be approved by CEO.
  • Write policy systems and process with the approval of the CEO.
  • Other authorities set by the CEO


Competencies

  • Manage a team of trades and suppliers to complete homes on time.
  • Delegate tasks as needed to complete homes and assign tasks to laborers/subordinates.
  • Communicate, motivate and train vendors on the expectations of Camden Homes.
  • Maintain a high level of organization in day-to-day tasks. Use routines and check lists.
  • Highly skilled communicator.
