The goal of Lazarus Naturals is to produce high quality and accessible hemp-based CBD products. We have a fun, fast-paced & close-knit workplace environment and are looking for an experienced Brand Manager to join the team and help us further grow our business.

As our Director, Brand Marketing, you will be responsible for utlizing, communicating, and growing our brand and brand value externally and within the company.
This role will be directly responsible for the following:

  • Partner with the Digital Marketing and eCommerce team to examine the holistic journey and create the best representation of the brand that optimizes for the customer segments, and user perception and experience. Improve the experience to make the customer more engaged with Lazarus Naturals-the D2C customer most especially. Work closely with the team to understand our customers and how we can serve them better and turn them into advocates for the brand.
  • Develop and oversee the brand planning process in collaboration with the Digital Marketing and eCommerce team, optimizing a comprehensive marketing mix and strategy for consumer brand-interaction to encourage purchase behavior and increase LTV.
  • Lead development and refinement of brand messages, creative design, and customer-facing communication to attract new customers and nurture current customers alike.
  • Develop weekly/monthly/annual brand marketing strategies and monitor the performance of those strategies in order to make necessary updates and improvements. Manage the forecast and revenue delivery for the business’s product through monitoring performance and availing transparent weekly/monthly/annual reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and relevant stakeholders on the performance of brand marketing program initiatives, their progress, and results.
  • Work closely with Product Development and Research and Development teams to ensure all creative efforts and brand messaging work cohesively with product composition and market position.
  • Manage all content creation, creative strategies, and brand activations in synchrony with current brand guidelines and in partnership with Product Development, eCommerce, and Digital Marketing teams.
  • Manage holistic brand messaging for current CBD product lines, driving success in correspondence with established brand and market position while also utilizing creative and public relations efforts to drive success in untapped and innovative market segments.
  • Create and manage brand messaging for new, non-CBD product line introductions that not only aligns with overall Lazarus Naturals CBD product positioning, but with novel, yet-unexplored market segments for the business. Align overall messaging on existing products to create a cohesive brand experience and message, drawing from our foundational reason-to-be.
  • Manage all aspects of the brand. Develop cohesive branding and expertly communicate brand messaging with current and new consumers, especially D2C customers.
  • Work in close collaboration with B2B branded sales teams, supporting them with all creative and content needs.
  • Manage, train, and inspire our marketing team. Create a culture that promotes and rewards initiative, growth, open communication, accountability and excellence.
  • Develop and promote an environment that encourages constant experimentation and learning, wherein failure is normalized.
  • Be a hands-on thought leader who inspires and mentors colleagues and direct reports with clear thinking, market insight, customer understanding, problem-solving and top-notch deal making and closing skills.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to define our target customer profiles and prioritize and focus our efforts. Elevate and prioritize customer needs and satisfaction. Provide D2C market insights, pricing shifts and competitive analysis.
  • Develop and implement brand driven go to market strategies.
  • Define and coordinate training programs that enable leaders and team members to achieve their potential and support company growth and revenue objectives.
  • Create focus and accountability within the company by developing appropriate KPIs (ROI/ROAS) and metrics and coordinating spend, compensation and promotions within these metrics.
  • Develop and manage Marketing staffing and expense forecasts and budgets.
  • Take a long term view of the organization and revenue. Focus on building a company that services our customers into the future and provides concrete value and solutions.
  • Lead data-driven decision making on where to lead the business utilizing critical thinking and analytical reasoning.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years of senior level marketing management in a CPG or Cannabis company.
  • The ideal candidate has experience developing and implementing programs to ignite internal growth and open new channels and opportunities in CPG companies with revenues of $25M to $200M.
  • Diverse experience across D2C, B2B sales and marketing, especially D2C. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, is highly collaborative, data driven and rigorous, and has a passion for building a sustainable, meaningful organization and business.
  • Leadership style that puts employee needs, recognition, and fulfillment above that of Senior Management.
  • Passionate and skilled at recruiting, training, developing, and coaching team members in sales, marketing, branding, and business development.
  • Proven experience developing and executing business strategy and related supporting initiatives.
  • Excellent communicator: builds trusted relationships, and clearly articulates key value propositions, processes and performance. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking experience.
  • Act as a market maker; able to work closely with the executive team and others to craft and communicate the company’s vision and then transform that vision into a strategy for pioneering new markets and opportunities.
  • Financially astute; expert understanding of key financial and marketing metrics that drive profitability and company success; leveraging metrics to course correct and optimize.
  • Successful experience in using data analytics to monitor and evaluate sales teams and programs against stated expectations, and to realign and change them to meet performance expectations.
  • Experience at multiple sizes and maturities of companies, specifically at start ups and mid-stage companies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing or related field; marketing education preferred.
  • Software literacy: CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint; Google Suite, including Google Sheets; ability and interest to learn new software.
  • Astute eye for the aesthetic and a keen instinct for user experience in eCommerce.
