Director Job at Sal Son Logistics, Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive accuracy and efficiency during the customer bid process
- Maximize rate per mile, balance, dead-head, seasonal peaks, and lane flow through strict analysis and comparisons
- Analyze current market trends, conditions, forecasted economic information, and customer pricing for opportunities to increase rate, optimize network and maximize profitability
- Collaborate with the sales team and senior/executive leadership to deliver revenue and profitability goals; establish and implement strategies and tactical plans at the agreement level
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract and tariff application, audit compliance and rule set implementation
- Must be able to effectively communicate within the organization and with customers on the executive level
- Analyze large data sets for risk management, growth, and network optimization
- Identify opportunities for enhancement, and positively contribute to pricing process improvements
- Continuously improve key metrics within the area of responsibility
The ideal candidate will be:
- 2 years experience in transportation and logistics
- 2 years experience in pricing/finance
- Experience in quantitative analysis
- Math/Supply Chain/Finance or related degree (or commensurate experience)
- Experience in drayage/intermodal
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Detail-oriented and comfortable learning and using multiple software systems
