Position Summary

Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented Director, Annual Giving to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success. Essential Functions

The Director of Annual Giving achieves annual revenue goals and manages all aspects of the annual giving programs, including solicitation of alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, and friends. The Director of Annual Giving will develop and oversee the implementation of creatively executed programs aimed at increasing annual giving under $10,000 from all constituent groups, with special emphasis on amplifying unrestricted giving (Annual Fund). Aligning these programs with “best practices”, the Director will also review program results in comparison to industry data and trends, implementing adjustments to plans, as needed, to achieve revenue goals. The Director will demonstrate curiosity, creativity, vision, flexibility, and the drive to exceed annual goals for donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades. The Director of Annual Giving has external contact with donors, prospective donors, funders, volunteers, and institutional partners. This position has access to sensitive DCCC information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position has regular contact with the community and is expected to represent DCCC in a professional manner.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic leader and team member who is strategic and fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of best practice strategies associated with all aspect of Fundraising and Development. This individual will demonstrate a spirit of an independent problem-solver and a strong understanding of the College’s mission and goals. The Director will show a high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism when dealing with sensitive fundraising information. The Director will also have a demonstrated ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment and drive results.

Experience & Education

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of previous experience in development and proven success in managing annual giving programs; Experience using Raiser’s Edge or comparable software is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, English, Marketing, or other related field of study; or equivalent combination or education and related experience; master’s degree is preferred. Association of Fundraising Professionals membership preferred. Certified Fundraising Executive certification or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive certification a plus.
