Role at a Glance:
The Food & Beverage(F&B) Director has the overall responsibility for all aspects and success of the restaurant, bars, terraces, events, lounge and hotel guest dining outlet. The F&B Director will oversee the business sales, service & culinary operations and profit & loss management. The F&B Director will ensure that the guest experience, product quality, revenue, profit, associate moral, and all related aspects of the business are functioning at the highest possible level. The F&B Director is responsible for balancing the requirements of general management functions while maintaining a hands on presence. A high priority is to increase daily sales in all outlets through effective leadership, team building, creativity, resourcefulness, and integrity. This position is led by the Director of Operations and is regularly guided by the Business Partners.
Minimum Compensation: $120,000
What you will be doing:
- daily coordination of all food and beverage services via leadership
- managing reservations, event calendars and resources to maximize capacity
- preparing and leading meetings on daily, weekly and monthly basis to varied position levels
- monitors and proactively manages cost centers daily & monthly as applies
- fulfilling staff management functions from recruiting, training, performance management & retention
- management of beverage program controls and assisting in curation
- drives productive working relationships with culinary, sales & marketing to ensure optimal brand experience
- assists to see through business growth objectives
- continuously nurtures internal and external relationships, i.e. vendor partners, hotel management & company brand partners
- business unit management functions of finance, human resources, effective use of shared service & multi-level reporting
- provide leadership driven by a culture of quality & consistency through professional communication and presence
What we are looking for
Must haves
- minimum 3 years of proven leadership in esteemed restaurant/hotel operation
- advance wine and spirits knowledge; sommelier certification preferred.
- financial management cost controls, food and labor cost management experience required
- must be proactive, creative, innovative
- must be detail oriented and perform work accurately and timely
- ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully with coworkers, supervisors, vendors and clients
- ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels (weekend and holiday availability required). We will endeavor to provide reasonable accommodations for sincerely held religious beliefs
- proficient computer skills with ability to quickly learn, adapt and efficiently utilize IS platforms
Nice to haves
- degree in hospitality management or similar; applicable field preferred
- experience with event sales and management
- follows food & beverage trends, participates with creative idea implementation
- maintains establish network of industry relationships: clients, venues, logistical partners
- fluency with local/state health, safety & labor laws; NYC food handlers certificate preferred
