Position Summary:

• The dietary aide works along with the dietary manager to prepare meals. She also assists in clean up, kitchen maintenance and setting up and taking down the dining areas. Other job duties include delivering food to residents' rooms, preparing and serving snacks and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies. In keeping with our organization’s tradition, we seek to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals. The dietary aide position is responsible to prepare and serve food to people in our facility, deliver dishes and ensure good sanitary conditions in cooking and dining premises. A dietary aide must be capable to prepare food following instructions while adhering to all safety and health standards. They must be competent and conscientious with a customer-oriented approach.
• Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Less than a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Preference given to prior dietary experience in an institutional setting.

• Essential Job Functions:
• · Set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order
• · Prepare meals under the supervision of a dietary manager or cook
• · Deliver dishes and trays at designated times and rooms
• · Take down dining areas and collect plates, glasses etc.
• · Discard leftovers and take out garbage
• · Clean food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels and silverware
• · Stock ingredients and monitor inventory
• · Assist in keeping track of expenses and menu planning
• · Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances
• · Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• · Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions
• · Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
• · Friendly with good communication skills
• · Good physical condition and stamina
• · Ensures food supplies are appropriate and places orders when necessary.
• · Ensures a clean kitchen and workspace.
• · Reliability, willingness to learn new tasks, ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others.
• · Performs duties in a manner consistent with safety principles

• · Must be organized in order to avoid clerical errors, errors of omission and inconsistent completion of job functions

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $21.00 per hour
