Our fleet consists of Premier late model Western Star tractors and Reitnouer Flats and Steps, Trail King, Fontaine and Xl Specialized trailers.

Job Description

• Perform maintenance, diagnosis and repairs on trucks, trailers, and any support equipment in a safe, efficient, quality focused manner.
• Ensure all maintenance is performed on a timely manner to minimize equipment down time.
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems and accurately identify causes of maintenance problems.
• Must work SAFELY as a strong team member under the direct supervision of the Shop Foreman and terminal manager.
• Responsible for preventive maintenance and general repairs of Class 8 Trucks and trailers
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure the equipment is up to Trans United and DOT specifications.
• Physical activities include walking, lifting to 100lbs, twisting, turning, standing for a long period of time, climbing a ladder, etc.

Requirements

• Hours Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm with overtime possibilities
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment.
• 18 + years of age
• Welding experience a plus
• Minimum of one year experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess your own general set of tools and be able to operate all shop tools and test equipment.
• Possess a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work in any weather condition, overtime and flexible work schedule can present itself at times.
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, and procedures.
• Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations/procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines.
