Job Posting: Development Manager
Overview: Weare seeking an outgoing development professional with experience in fundraising, communications, proposal writing and donor stewardship. Reporting to the Associate Executive Director of Operations, the Development Manager will spearhead and provide hands-on development efforts by researching new funding opportunities, discovering and engaging supporters, organizing and executing events, and planning and measuring fundraising success to support the mission of the Albany Damien Center. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in raising funds in a not-for-profit, human services setting.
Status: Full Time (37.5 hrs), OT exempt – Benefits Eligible. Salary: $58,000-$63,000 annual

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience coordinating communications and resource development in a non-profit setting.
3. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
4. Knowledgeable of current trends in electronic communication and charitable giving.
5. Experience in grant proposal development.
6. Experience in donor management software reporting and analysis.
7. Experience with social media platforms and website management.
8. Outgoing personality with a strong aptitude for relationship building.
Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and coordinate effective communication strategies to promote the Center’s brand, enhance its reputation, and engage with the community. Including, but not limited to; solicitation letters, website, social media, newsletters, annual reports, and marketing materials.
2. Work closely with the leadership team in the development and execution of the Damien Center’s development plan.
3. Identify, research, and write grant proposals and reports.
4. Plan, manage, and execute events that increase visibility, cultivate new donors and increase giving.
5. Manage the reporting and analysis of donor information through Neon CRM software and oversee staff responsible for data entry, thank you notes, and gift processing.
6. Research donor trends and strategies to improve retention and acquisition rates.
7. Maintain and manage donor recognition, naming opportunities and stewardship programs.
8. Fully engage in self-care to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
