Director of Research & Development (Chemicals)

Summary:
One of Adecco Life Sciences' clients is seeking a strategic and hands-on Research and Development (R&D) Director to manage their chemical formulation/manufacturing laboratory process and operations. The R&D Director will be responsible for product/solvent formulation, new product development, technical support, product integrity, and OHSA laboratory safety compliance. Candidates must have chemical formulation experience and a degree in chemical engineering or chemistry.
Responsibilities:
- New product formulation from concept to completion.
- Technical reviews of product development results and completion of development targets.
- Standardize processes that drive efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Product compliance.
- Write laboratory policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Remain current on chemical regulations and technologies relevant to the business.
- Manage raw material vendors and/or manufacturers.
- Develop production formulas, QC specifications, and identify raw material sources.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Chemical production experience (industrial cleaners preferred).
- Laboratory instrumentation knowledge.
- Leadership Skills Required:
- Management experience.
- Lead cross-functional teams.
