The designer for this position will coordinate the workflow of design projects for the customer team and will create the projects. This role will require working with the customer’s designers, Steelcase team and the internal dancker team. Our dancker team includes Vice President, Account Executive, other dedicated designers, Project Managers and Account Coordinators.

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Create drawings in CET (typicals, furniture plans, 3D’s)
• Provide consistent updates to Director of Design and Design Managers
• Meet with Account Executives and Vice President to define project scope
• Maintenance of internal reporting systems, i.e. time sheets (MxT) and project files via Smartsheets (we will provide training)
• Prepare installation drawings and supporting documents (specs) (including key schedules and tagging)
• Identify areas that need field verification and coordinate actual dimensions with final plan
• Finish selection -provide color schemes where needed
• Create specifications, BOMs and quotes
• Revise drawings and specs when required
• Assist with budget pricing
• Continuing education related to product updates and industry trends

The above duties may be supplemented occasionally with additional duties related to company objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a CIDA accredited design program preferred
• 3-5 years industry experience
• Proficiency in CET and AUTOCAD
• Understanding of basic installation drawings and installation packages
• Growing knowledge of and proficiency with systems furniture/product specification
• Must possess a strong customer service focus and commitment
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Must be able to work independently or as a team player
