Western National is seeking a Design Specialist to join our creative team!

The individual in this role will have the opportunity to assist with planning, creation, design, and layout of internal and external communications, marketing materials, and marketing resources within a wide variety of print and web-based mediums. Attention to detail, professional Adobe software skills, and the ability to manage multiple creative projects at once are key.

What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?

• Producing professional-grade designs and layouts for a variety of communications and marketing materials (including advertisements, brochures, campaign materials, internal and external corporate documents, and print and digital publications).
• Assisting with delivering a consistent look-and-feel for all branded communications.
• Assisting with design and development of the company's web properties while incorporating user feedback.
• Providing support for various internal and external video projects (e.g., scripting, filming, editing).
• Assisting with all other matters of corporate communications (e.g., website, social media, video, public relations)
• Acting consistently according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
• Regular contact with internal and external customers, seeks stakeholder feedback, and considers customer service of paramount importance.
• Performing special projects and other duties as assigned.

What are the must have qualifications for a candidate?

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media arts, web design, fine arts / studio arts, illustration, photography, communications, or related field; or equivalent related experience.
• Excellent design skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Accurate and strong attention to detail.

What will our ideal candidate have?

• A strong understanding of the core design principles and how to implement them purposefully to create functional and visually appealing designs across various mediums.
• Advanced skill and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
• Motion graphics and video editing skills is preferred.
• Intermediate skill with website markup language and styling (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experience is a plus).
• Experience with photography and video mediums.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Experience with copywriting and editing for design purposes.

Compensation overview

The full hiring range for this role is $21.60 - $30.20 per hour. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
