Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) by the Board of Certification to be obtained within 6months of hire date for the position; Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire or on day 1 if previously registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.

Physical Requirements
The ability to lift, carry, push objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds, kneel and bend, stand, walk, sit, talk, see and hear. The conditions may involve loud noises, cuts/punctures, blood borne pathogens, risk of injury from moving/lifting. Requires manual dexterity and driving in all conditions. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Shift
Typical shift is Monday thru Friday 8am-430pm (40 hrs/wk) Shifts may vary depending on needs of the department.

Job Summary
Assists DME staff in the transportation and distribution of supplies to home care patients. Must excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment adhering to strict deadlines. Works closely with DME staff to meet the needs of the department including, but not limited to, assisting with procurement and movement of supplies, preventative maintenance of equipment, and routine cleaning requirements. Requires excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively to patients and healthcare staff. Must be able to drive a University of Kentucky Motor Pool vehicle for courier services to both on-site and off-site locations. Must maintain clean driving record, valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely. Must be able to pass a thorough background check. The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, have the ability to prioritize and be self motivated with a positive attitude. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely and be eligible to drive a University owned motor vehicle.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
