Qualifications
Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and market diversity and inclusion-focused education, programs, and events.
  • Proficiency in current technologies and word processing, database, learning management systems, presentation, and spreadsheet software, especially Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize several tasks by volume, urgency, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student/customer-centered service and support.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of professional work experience with program operations and/or program management.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience using social media to promote and engage college students in retention-related activities.
  • Working knowledge of degree audit and student information systems for reviewing student records, registration, and academic issues.
  • Experience using WebAdvisor, Self-Service, Blackboard, and Business Objects.
  • Experience using early alert reporting systems, student databases, and/or advising software for tracking.
  • Experience developing and implementing retention and inclusive programs and services for college students.
  • Capacity to work with others in a high-functioning, collaborative, and innovative educational setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and market diversity and inclusion-focused education, programs, and events for faculty, staff, students, and the community.
  • Assist in developing and implementing retention programs and follow-up on existing initiatives.
  • Monitor, track, and provide academic support to students as assigned.
  • Identify new outreach opportunities to engage high-risk students.
  • Assist students in understanding and adjusting to the demands and culture of higher education.
  • Assist with events and other learning opportunities that support students in reaching their academic and career goals.
  • Provide information and assist students in areas such as university policies, campus resources, financial aid information, and graduation requirements.
  • Assist in statistical data collection for reporting and/or funding purposes.
  • Work with various units to help execute diversity, equity, and inclusion plans.
  • Actively research new initiatives and best practices that address common challenges in retention, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Diversity Officer or other appropriate administrators.
Salary: Dependent upon credentials; includes excellent medical and retirement benefits. This is a full-time grant-funded position. No guarantee or commitment is made for future or continued employment beyond the grant award.
