The Mental Health Technicians’ responsibilities include the following:

• Care for our patients daily by assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with the discharge process too.
• Assist them with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

Qualified candidates should have the following:

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nurse Assistant preferred; or degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred or (1) year experience as a Corpsman in the Military.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Handle with Care or Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 30 days of employment
• Schedule: Seeking FT and PRN –Nights Shifts. Weekend rotation is require
