The position of Customer Support Manager is a strategic role, responsible for Customer and Product support related activities regarding technical and support matters on all OHT worldwide. The LME Customer Support Manager works closely with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing and Quality departments and affiliated Liebherr companies to ensure Product Performance is maintained as well as exceptional class service and support is delivered. The Customer Support Manager, manages the combined activities of the Product Support Group and Regional Customer Managers, to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the joint efforts of the Regional Customer Managers and Product Support team.
- Coordinate the selection and retention of all Product and Customer Support personnel.
- Sets expense budgets for all Product and Regional Customer Support activities, to meet company targets.
- Develops OHT project cost forecasts and instructs about cost allocation (Sales contracts, Customer Support Dept.) and / or invoicing of those services.
- Primary Point of Contact for engineering and design related matters for LME Customer Support.
- Coordinates the combined efforts of Field Engineering, Reliability and Product Support Personnel to ensure all PIR Projects and Field Issues are resolved in a fast and efficient manner while maintaining detailed progress updates on a periodical basis.
- Drafts and publishes all OHT Product related Customer Service information notifications (CSI’s) to ensure high standards of communication are maintained with affiliates, dealers and end-users.
- Develop LME Product Support personnel and organization to meet the needs of customers including Regional Support activities, Field Projects, resource development, succession planning, tools and services that are offered, for all existing and new OHT models.
- Develop and Communicate departmental strategies for continuous improvement of Support capabilities, working in conjunction with LME department managers for Technical Training, Technical Publications, Maintenance and Reliability and Spare Parts Business.
- Directly supervises Regional Customer Support Managers, Product Support Manager and Field Project Manager.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Product and Customer Support team.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of repair and maintenance of mining or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electric drives, which includes reading and approving changes to schematics and engineering drawings.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Project.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid driver’s license and passport.
