With this, and other investments, comes the need to add highly skilled and experienced employees to all our business units and teams throughout the US.
We are actively searching for a Customer Solutions ( Technical Service) Engineer with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) or Plastics experience to liaison between our products and clients. In this role the TS Engineer, will have a polymer background such as Chemical Engineering, Chemical, Polymer Engineering or others and will work directly with our client in the Automotive, Home Appliance or Consumer product industries.
Responsibilities include:
- Visit customer and introduce product to customers
- Solution Partner Activity – consult with customers to provide solutions to issues or supporting product development
- Develop product specifications – understanding new materials and analyzing the market information to determine the feasibility of commercializing to develop specifications for customers
- Investigate and find workable solutions for customers
- Technical support such as providing process condition guides based on the theoretical knowledge of rubber compound mixing technologies, extrusion processing technologies to analyze and solve issues for customers
- Design and propose new projects from analysis of market research and material investigation
- Provide technical reports and information to provide written material for product introduction and data analysis
- Support and train customers through in-person or video based seminars and training
- Provide recommendations to customers for products
- Plan product testing with internal or external test laboratories
Requirements:
- Bachelor or advanced degrees in polymer relevant fields such as Chemical engineering, polymer engineering, chemicals, etc. highly preferred
- 5+years of experience in material development and market development at a plastic (ABS etc.) manufacturer (polymerisation or compounding). Ideal candidates will have experience of technical service at plastic compounder) and/or experience of plastic analysis.
- 5+years experience of material development or approval as engineer or technical manager at OEM or Tier 1 of automotive, home appliances or consumer products.
- 5+years of experience with or in injection or processing of thermoplastics. Experience may include plastic post processing (paint, metal plating etc.)
- This is an individual contributor role carrying out customer development activities while being a member of a larger team
- Strong communication and coordination skills
