MEDIKO is a privately-owned, correctional healthcare provider headquartered in Richmond, VA. We proudly provide compassionate, comprehensive medical and mental health services to underserved populations in correctional facilities. We are looking for a QMHP/Crisis Counselor (part-time, rotating weekends) for the J Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, SC.
What You'll Do:
Make rounds in intake and housing units to check on patients’ needs and overall wellbeing
Serve the challenging forensic population of all cultural, spiritual, and economic backgrounds
Collaborate with excellent nursing and security staff support
Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record
Share responsibility for patient care and ensure patient needs are met
Follow guidance of the Corporate Mental Health Director
What We Require:
QMHP License (preferably QMHP – A)
Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science Field from an Accredited College or University
At least five years of experience working with persons with mental illness and addiction.
Current CPR/BLS certification
Criminal background check, security clearance, and drug screening
