Location: Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare written credit limit recommendations by conducting in depth analysis of counterparties’ financial statements, agency ratings, collateral, company specific news, macroeconomic and industry trends, and credit bureau reports as appropriate;
  • Onboarding customers and active credit management;
  • Perform weekly credit reporting, including credit quality and AR;
  • Investigate, solve problems, follow up on invoice issues internally and with customers;
  • Establish and maintain excellent cooperative working relationships, both with internal stakeholders and external counterparties; and
  • Collaborate with Back Office Finance teams on collections management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Highly collaborative individual with a desire to work as part of a high-performing, integrated team
  • Three to five years of credit experience.
  • University Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting is considered an asset
  • Good understanding of commodity supply and trading and company financial statements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to find solutions to unique problems
  • Ability to combine qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and energy marketing/trading is considered a definite asset
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Willingness to take initiative and ownership of projects, establish new processes and other drive other improvements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.). Strong Excel skills required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and make quick but informed decisions.
