We're Getir, the pioneers of ultra-fast (and we mean FAST) delivery. We deliver everything from sandwiches to shampoo, dog food to paper towels, or a bottle of wine for a night in with that special someone—all in an average of just ten minutes!

Founded in 2015, we deliver hundreds of thousands of orders a day across Turkey, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and the US! We plan to rock the streets and doorsteps of many more cities across the world. We're backed by international investors, including US investors Sequoia and Tiger, having raised $2bn dollars to date.

And that's where you come in! As we expand our operations globally, we have to keep scaling on multiple levels. So it's key that we onboard an experienced General Manager to join our team.

As a GM, you will have ownership of your market, which essentially means you are the CEO of a scale-up within a global company, Getir US began operations in Q4/2021 and is one of the most significant markets in Getir's international strategy. Your impactful mission is to drive market growth, scale operations while improving effectiveness and steadily moving towards sustainable profitability.

That's why we're now looking for an experienced GM, someone who raises our already-high bar, someone who challenges us, and someone who inspires those around them comes into play. An entrepreneurial Country GM that wants to take that next step in the career and join us in this game changing. Reporting with our Chief Transformation Officer and with significant direct interaction with the Founders. Your direct reports will include the Heads of Marketing, Transformation, Buying, Safety, Business Development, Growth, Government Relations, Legal, Finance and People.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you'll get a lot of help and support on the way but are also expected to grow into being a highly-driven independent manager with an exceptional ability to execute every single day.

  • Be the CEO for the US market and further build a market-winning business in the United States.
  • Go above and beyond to own and manage your business.
  • Lead by example. Be the person that everyone in the US organization looks up to by going beyond typical management and strategy.
  • Work both with Chief Transformation Officer, and the founders of Getir.
  • Manage a P&L, and take care of efficiency, profitability, responsibility, and scalability.
  • We like people with attention to detail and a "hands-on" mentality.
  • Comfort with ambiguity.
  • Further build and maintain scalable and healthy marketplace operations.

Requirements

  • Confident & energetic; professional and impact-driven approach in doing.

  • Result-driven & resilient; ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Conscientious, loyal & dedicated; be the shining example for Getir US.
  • Considerate, supportive & friendly; further expanding a safe environment for people to thrive.
  • Leader; previous experience in leadership and managing large teams(150+) with complex stakeholder maps.
  • Beyond-great communication skills. Whether you're communicating to the team or to the press, genuine communication goes an incredibly long way.
  • Very strong analytical skills. You'll have access to a lot of data and will be expected to make the best out of that.
  • A good, preferably fun, personality.
  • Established success previously building and scaling consumer-facing businesses in the US market.
  • Previous experience owning a P&L.
  • Mobility to travel to occasionally travel to HQ and new Getir markets.
  • You can fluently communicate in English.
