CORE KIDS SPECIALIST Job at City of Hobbs
Provides supervision and safely interacts with children within the secure COREkids area located within the C.O.R.E. (Center of Recreational Excellence).
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for maintaining supervision of all children between the ages of six (6) months to twelve (12) years at all times. Provides a fun, entertaining, and safe environment.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to greeting, acknowledging and interacting with guests and children in a friendly manner. Follows appropriate check-in and check-out procedures for COREkids. Monitors and interacts with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to other children, equipment, and surroundings. Keeps COREkids area sanitized and equipment organized. Adheres to assigned work schedule. Implements the CORE mission and philosophy. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures within COREkids. Immediately reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
May serve on various employee committees as required and assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and chain of command.
Minimum Qualifications
This position is subject to the City of Hobbs’ Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes one or more of the following: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or high school equivalency (HSE) preferred with at least six months of professional childcare experience required. Customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Applicant must be dependable.- Applicant must be available to work flexible hours
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to utilize computer skills
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships
- Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to deal with people under stressful and demanding situations.
- Bilingual Preferred.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid state issued driver’s license preferred- Ability to obtain Infant/Youth/Adult First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under the general supervision of the COREkids Supervisor, CORE Guest Services Coordinators and CORE Facility Director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate controls and reach with upper and lower body and hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to stand up to a four (4) hour period of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in other parts of the facility.
