Contraband Correctional Officer - Turbeville CI, Turbeville, (CLARENDON) Job at State of South Carolina
- Assisting Police Services with intelligence gathering.
- Instrumental in the prevention, detection, and seizing of contraband items at the institution.
- Responsible for inmate drug testing.
- Assists with cell searches, contraband retrieval, employee searches, vehicle searches, and dorm searches.
- Provides the Warden with pertinent information as it relates to gang activity and suspicious behavior at the institution.
- All other job duties will be given by the Institutional Major.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen, high school graduate or GED, no criminal record.
- Must possess a valid current driver’s license.
- Incumbent must satisfactorily complete all academics and on the job training by the S.C. Department of Corrections as specified.
- If offered employment, you must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
- Must have completed Defensive Driving Training and cannot be on the “No Drive List and or the No Draw List” with SCDC.
