As Content and Digital Asset Manager within BetterUp's product team, you will work with producers, learning experience designers, program managers, and product managers to ensure all of our material maintains the highest possible standards and is optimized for personalization. There are several aspects to the role: asset & taxonomy management, quality assurance, style guide ownership, accessibility, rights clearance, and content experience design.

As you'll see below, this role has many different responsibilities — and these responsibilities evolve as our team and technology evolves. The individual will embrace the idea of "wearing many hats" and jumping in as needed, always in service of crafting high-quality, engaging, accessible, and beautiful media.


What you'll do:

  • Asset Digitization and Management: Coordinate the accession, ingest, migration, and tagging of all BetterUp owned or licensed digital assets (text, images, and videos) into the digital repository using standard and custom schema. This includes designing and implementing workflows across our different content management systems.
  • Content Curation: Work in collaboration with subject matter experts to curate syndicated content.
  • Style Guide: Create, maintain, and evangelize media & content style guides (including accessibility and usage rights clearance) across the organization
  • Accessibility: Produce and test materials to ensure that they meet accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and advise other teams on implementing accessible design from project inception to delivery.
  • Usage rights clearance. Ensure that all assets follow copyright guidelines or licensing agreements.
  • Taxonomy: Defining and implementing new taxonomies and metadata relates to personalization, localization, technical and creative attributes for all text, video, artwork and digital assets
  • Quality assurance: Triage, track, and resolve content errors, media technical issues, and maintenance needs. Support copy editing on a need-by-need basis.
  • Database management: Manage large-scale, disparate databases of creative assets that include audio-visual, static image, and textual assets via metadata

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (preferred) in Library & Information Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining enterprise-scale asset management systems, ideally for a content-driven tech product
  • Familiarity with the field of well-being, coaching, mental health, and/or positive psychology
  • Expertise with various CMS, DAMs, and database to manage assets and associated workflows
  • Highly organized and detail oriented – especially as it pertains to data entry and content creation
  • In-depth knowledge of media usage rights issues and accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
  • Superior Excel or Google Sheet skills
  • Proficiency in SQL, HTML, CSS. Bonus if you are also proficient in other programming languages
  • Strong project management skills and are able to think through short and long term strategy as it relates to operational efficiency and end user experience
  • Comfort with ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent writing skills; able to produce clear, engaging, concise, and error-free text
  • Content experience design is a huge plus!

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $79,000 – $$129,650.
If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is:
$89,450 – $129,650 : New York City
$84,200 – $122,050 : Nassau, Newburgh
$79,000 – $114,550 : Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
