Norrell is currently seeking a reliable Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner for Industrial Projects. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects. We are seeking a "roll up your sleeves" candidate willing to partner with Leadership and Field personnel.

JOB OBJECTIVE: *
The Construction Manager will be responsible to oversee and direct construction projects from planning to completion. Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations. Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverable and estimate costs, overseeing management project resources, schedules, and budgets. They will prepare proposals for large pursuits and work directly with senior-level personnel in interpreting the actual needs of individual clients. Analyze, manage and mitigate risks. She/he will determine required scope and level of effort of project work including the degree of completeness and precision to which project elements should be addressed.

Ensure proper implementation of project safety and quality assurance programs and corporate policies and procedures

  • Coordinate site activities with Managers, contractors, subcontractors, agency personnel and client representatives
  • Exercise independent professional judgment
  • Maintain a high level of communications skill
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in directing and managing large multi-disciplined projects
  • Provide technical direction to and mentors subordinate staff
  • Responsible for ensuring the administrative and financial policies and procedures as well as the methods and procedures specific to his/her specific discipline are followed
  • Represent Norrell and interact in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives while on field assignments
  • Meet with client representatives at the direction of more senior personnel, and conduct his / herself in a manner compatible with the firm’s professional standards and financial goals
  • Capable of preparing moderate to large sized multi-disciplined technical and price proposals for clients
  • Liaise with leadership to review contract and proposal handover documentation prior to commencement of the Project
  • Initiate the formulation of project policy or recommendations to the Client in key areas
  • Review with Managers the progress of work in their discipline areas as required
  • Lead problem-solving sessions at all stages of the project, using procedures where appropriate
  • Maintain cost awareness by all project personnel throughout all phases of project execution
  • Approve and authorize project activities which have commercial and financial impact
  • Identify and communicate the objectives for the project team in accordance with the contract terms, scope of work and company policy - Communicate these objectives to the project team, and Client
  • Organize the project team and agree the assignment of all key personnel
  • Motivate the project team towards the determined objectives through proactive communication, and by maintaining continued personal interest in achieving set targets
  • Achieve health, safety and environmental, scheduled performance, cost, quality, requirements of the project from contract award to Client’s acceptance
  • Ensure that designated systems are adopted by the project team as soon as possible, after contract award
  • Act as primary contact and maintain satisfactory relations with the Client

REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related disciplined (preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience and management responsibility leading construction projects
  • Extensive experience with state and federal environmental regulations and regulatory negotiations
  • Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and team-building skills
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
  • Formal project management training and PMP certification desirable
  • Be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work
  • Have a broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills
