Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Communications Specialist to join the Division of Population Behavioral Health Training Center. You will assist in the production of distribution of electronic and printed marketing and training materials. You will be responsible for planning and working with the training team and designers to create information sheets, training handouts, marketing and outreach materials for a variety of projects and coordinating their submissions to the Director of Communications for edits and approvals. You will also develop and monitory production timelines, coordinate delivery with vendors, track purchase orders and invoice, and monitor inventory of requested materials, as directed. You will contribute content for marketing emails, social media posts, blogs and newsletters, and prepare them for distribution. You will provide technical support for content management of related websites and learning management platforms, assisting with the filming of events and seminars, preparing presentations and reports, overseeing the inventory and ordering of promotional materials, and curating content on related websites and online learning center.

Please note: this is a 1-year contract position and may convert to career

Salary range: $24.28-$48.04

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to an automobile
Knowledge of website and online learning center programming tools including, but not limited to, Drupal
Knowledge of the Google Drive/Team Drive application
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point
Knowledge of collaborative workgroup and reporting tools, including SalesForce, Access, and SharePoint
Knowledge of email system operations including password management
Demonstrated ability to manage print and production orders and invoices and interact with various vendors
Demonstrated ability to use social media for marketing and Constant Contact or other email marketing system
Ability to operate personal computers (both PC and Mac)
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Skill in keeping accurate records
Demonstrated experience developing online and print content
Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
Ability to work effectively and closely as part of a team effort
Demonstrated ability to conduct resourceful problem solving
Ability to work flexible hours
