Commercial Sales Specialist

At Bliffert Lumber & Hardware, we look for fun, outgoing individuals that want to grow within our company. Established in 1904, we are one of the oldest lumber families in the Midwest. Now in our fifth generation of family ownership, we operate lumber yards, hardware stores and millwork shops in southern Wisconsin.

The Commercial Sales Specialist is responsible for managing and tracking bids for large scale commercial projects. They work heavily with General Contractors and the project management team. Provide value engineering to Architects or other persons involved with project.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all bid invitations/plans and determine if we will do a hard bid or budget bid
  • Provide timely Budget bids based on square footage and building type
  • Send out for trusses, wall panels, and loose lumber take offs/quotes
  • Receive all quotes and take off and create a hard bid for customer
  • Must thoroughly detail all inclusions, exclusions and start date availability
  • Follow up on all bids to determine if awarded to Bliffert, other or if project is on hold
  • Provide Value Engineering suggestions when relevant
  • Work with GC’s estimators, Architects, and Structural Engineers in pre bid to help guide the design process
  • If awarded, assemble project info, options, and bid communications for Bliffert Project Managers
  • Manage projects as needed if Project Management team is at capacity
  • Maintain relationships with General Contractors to maximize wins and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous sales experience in the construction industry, preferably in commercial.
  • Self-starter, strong social and communication skills

This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or jobsites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

  • ASE Certification (Preferred)
