Your work:

  • Evaluate both start-up and tenured business accounts in ridesharing, car sharing, car subscription, and other emerging markets.
  • Collaborate with Forms, Legal, and Claims to identify risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Review and analyze business financials, operations, inventory management, risk controls, employee training, procedures, and other pertinent underwriting information.
  • Play an active role in the design and development of new product.
  • Evaluate underwriting profitability of existing businesses, including analysis of loss runs, frequency and severity trends, and subscriber and employee driver risk profiles.
  • Determine appropriate account pricing based on risk attributes, while attracting and retaining desired business and helping achieve overall program profitability targets.
  • Monitor the evolution of sharing economy and mobility sector and competitive landscape in developing innovative insurance solutions that meet the needs of new and emerging exposures.
  • Effectively support broker relationships and develop new business opportunities by pursuing creative, client-centric solutions in a highly responsive and professional manner.
  • Regularly interact with executives. Interactions frequently involve activities such as speaking to or negotiating with customers, influencing other leaders, and representing the organization.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of commercial auto insurance experience.
  • 2-3 years of insurance product management experience.
  • Product management and/or underwriting experience for medium to large business accounts.
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial lines products and contract knowledge including regulations of sharing economy and mobility sector.
  • Experience with usage-based insurance product design.
  • Deep knowledge of the insurance product lifecycle, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability, insurance regulations and surplus line regulations, general insurance operations, and business processes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to influence.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills focusing on “How”.
  • Proactive and self-starter who will search for opportunities and problems and then address them. Flexibility and capacity to balance multiple demands.
  • Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.
  • Prior experience with other insurance lines including general liability, excess liability, cargo, and property a big plus!
  • CPCU certification and/or actuarial designation preferred.

The national average salary range for this position is $119,250-$132,500. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $107,280-$159,200. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.
