Summary
  • This position will handle debtor communication to maximize client collections. Must have a diverse knowledge of multiple types of service providers to include medical collections, commercial and student loans. Prefer knowledge of medical insurance functions. Instrumental in outbound and inbound dialer for collection calls. Develop and obtain information from debtors to determine a reasonable payment plan. Must have full understanding of all Federal and State regulations and comply with these laws, including compliance with FCPA, FCRA, and HIPAA. Understand the operations of a third party collection agency. Participates in office meetings and training seminars.
  • This position works under the direction of the Director of Northwest Financial Services and is employed by Midwestern Health Management.
Duties
  • Generates inbound and outbound calls to communicate with debtors, attorneys and third party responsible parties to obtain information to define a reasonable payment plan. Make decisions and recommendations to process accounts timely to expedite the full collection activity. Answer questions regarding accounts. Obtain financial information and set payment arrangements according to ability to pay.
  • Performs skip-tracing process to include calls, copies of death certificates or other used for the purpose of obtaining location information regarding customers. Obtain items for preparation of probate claims, validation of accounts and bankruptcies claims.
  • Review clients’ cancel and return accounts. Discuss with management accounts that do not meet requirements or guidelines.
  • Monitors credit reporting agencies deletion files process.
  • Prepares bankruptcies, credit bureau disputes and debtors’ requests for account information.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred one year of collection experience. Minimum of 35-45 wpm preferred. Previous general office skills, computer skills and public contact, preferred. Completion of the ACA training on FDCPA and obtain certification within 18 months of date of hire preferred. Computer skills would include Word and Excel preferred. Some medical terminology and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance processing, is preferred.
