Essential Functions

  • Review encounters for proper diagnosis, contractual adjustments before processing.
  • Submit claims daily to the billing service, ensuring claims are clean.
  • Review & ensure sliding scale information is on the account, account reflects the correct adjustments according to the sliding scale category.
  • Review self-pay accounts 60 days old in Medi, or the eligibility system to capture Medicaid eligibility.
  • Inform the billing service company as soon as payment is received in CFHC bank account, scan of checks & backup, credit card payments received@ the bank or through the portal
  • Ensure accuracy & timely recording of payment received in the bank is reflected in the patient account, reconcile the detailed posted payment report weekly to the bank receipts, resolve discrepancies immediately, timely before month end close.
  • Review Lab crops invoices monthly to identify eligibility for patients, prepare information to be sent to Lab crops to generate credit.
  • Run report for posted hospital charges by DR & procedure code.
  • Work the task list for rejected claims as assigned by supervisor or manager daily.


Coding

  • Must have experience working with either JavaScript, Ruby, HTML, Python, or C.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and medical billing software programs.


Education, Experience and Skills Required

  • a minimum of an associates degree preferred
  • Three (3) to four (4) years previous business office, health insurance, or equivalent experience required.
  • Certification through the Healthcare Financial Management Associations and or billing required.
