Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide treatment direction for substance abuse clients; to select and maintain adequate clinical staff to meet regulatory and licensing regulations; to assess clinical programs; to provide administrative coverage. This position will work with difficult clients and must find their internal strengths to help each client navigate their individualized recovery.

All activities must support the Firetree, Ltd. mission, strategic goals, and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

  • Assures program compliance with DOH DDAP and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in the creation and implementation of all clinical programming.
  • Assists in the development of all clinical staff training programs.
  • Monitors quality of program and performance of clinical treatment team through chart reviews, audits of lectures and groups, patient care monitoring and utilization review activities.
  • Meets daily with Utilization Review team to discuss issues, coordinate delivery of quality care and monitor morale.
  • Must have knowledge and familiarity with DSM-V.
  • Prepare clinical staff schedules and rosters to assure twenty four hour coverage daily.
  • Assists Facility Director in investigating all clinical staff incidents and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinates a comprehensive treatment team model that is in compliance with state license and applicable standards.
  • Oversees the policies and procedures for treatment planning, documentation, discharge planning and delivery of services.
  • Participates as an active member of assigned committees.
  • Serves as the immediate back up in the absence of the Facility Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or other related field and 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or other related field and 3 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent person.

An Associate Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or other related field and 4 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent person.

Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide certification body which is a member of a National certification body or certification by another state government’s substance abuse counseling certification board and 3 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent person. The individual shall also complete a Department approved core curriculum training which includes a component on clinical supervision skills.

Clinical supervisors and lead counselors who have not functioned for 2 years as supervisors in the provision of clinical services shall complete a core curriculum in clinical supervision. Training not provided by the Department shall receive prior approval from the Department.

If a clinical supervisor or lead counselor has less than 2 years of clinical experience working directly with the chemically dependent person, 6 of the training hours required in § 704.11(e)(2) and (f)(2) (relating to staff development program) during the first year of employment shall be in diseases of addiction.

Clinical supervisors are required to participate in documented monthly meetings with their supervisors to discuss their duties and performance for the first 6 months of employment in that position. Frequency of meetings thereafter shall be based upon the clinical supervisor’s skill level.

Knowledge of and experience with CARF and ASAM preferred.

Technical Skills

To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.

To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone. The employee must occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
