Job Description
Responsibilities:
1.
Teacher Education Clinical Placement and Student Teaching Placement Advising. Serve as a primary campus expert on field experience placement. Be a primary source of information regarding education programs and support and facilitate clear and concise field experience placement processes in collaboration with academic departments. Provide leadership and coordination with external community linkages and initiatives to enhance and strengthen Winona State and support community-based learning opportunities. Collaborate and work with partner school districts to create opportunities for students regarding field experience placements and student teaching placements. Present and participate in field experience placement and advising events and department activities to enhance student experience in teacher education programs. Ensure implementation of policies and procedures to improve and enhance the teacher education clinical placement processes. Provide support for student teaching placement by advising pre-student teachers in their field experience goals, academic progress towards graduation, and resume writing as needed to prepare for student teaching.
2. Teacher Education Advising. Support the Center for Student Success, College of Education programs and enrolled students through advising. Assist faculty advisors through supplemental advising geared toward successful completion of their graduate and undergraduate Teacher Education programs. Work closely with advising services to develop strategies and resources for effective advising. Work with Director, Dean, and faculty to establish effective advising policies, procedures, and practices. Educate and update students on pertinent information regarding their graduation, program completion rate, and license. Provide resources to students regarding mental health, financial aid, and advising assistance to assist them through their academic program.

Data Software Information Management. Determine the most effective methods, tools, and proper procedures for collecting student data. Understand the state procedures, requirements, and licensure policies. Collect, compile, analyze, and report on data related to the Center for Student Success. This data will inform admission to the College of Education, field experience placements (hours, scope, content), and student teaching placements. Data must be accurate for reporting purposes to the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board, and the College of Education accreditation center. Collaborate with the College of Education faculty and staff departments on Education Program Assessment.
4.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of Winona State University. Including but not limited to participating on committees and work groups and participating in professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in related field and one year of professional experience in an education setting or Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of professional experience in education setting
- Experience working directly with students
- Demonstrated oral, verbal, and written communication skills sufficient to communicate in writing, over the phone, and prepare and deliver presentation.
- Demonstrated ability for creative problem solving and the ability to understand complex systems
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to speak in public
